Writing and Presentation Workshops

Writing and Presentation Workshops

I am a teacher.

I have combined my writing with my experience as an educator to create two workshops. Good writing is one of the tools for effective communication. My Writing Workshop is based on the belief that good writing is the result of proper language usage combined with personal style. Effective Presentation Skills can be learned and understood through using tried and true techniques and practice. Participants in both Workshops will be given the opportunity to acquire and refine these skills.

C*L*E*A*R Writing Workshop

These two, half-day sessions are organized around five principles of good writing for business or personal use. These principles maintain that good writing is CONCISE, LOGICAL, ENGAGING, ACCURATE, and RELEVANT. Each participant receives an original workbook arranged in five chapters that provide detailed descriptions of those principles.

After the workshop, the workbook remains as a valuable desk reference to enhance the word use, format, grammar, and spelling of your documents.

Effective Presentation Skills Workshop

The goals of this workshop are to apply a practical process of speech preparation and to develop the strengths of your own presentation style.

During the course, we will practice techniques for providing clear, concise, and credible responses to audience questions. We will build participants’ confidence in their ability to make competent choices in preparing and presenting speeches. Participants will learn how to control presentation anxiety and how to bring the audience into a listening and understanding frame of mind.

We will discuss the size of the group that will be participating in the Workshops in order to structure the days and hours needed. We will also discuss the specific areas on which you would like me to focus in order to achieve your goals.

Please call (704 609-5531) or email me so that we can discuss your Workshop needs.

Workshop references are available upon request.
